Palacios Spanish Potato Omelette with Onion is a convenient, generously sized tortilla española made with 50% fried potato, pasteurised egg and 9.7% fried onion, prepared with sunflower and olive oils. Supplied frozen in a round 1.2kg format, it is an easy way to serve one of Spain’s best-known dishes at home.

The finished tortilla has a juicy texture, characteristic potato-and-onion flavour and a golden-yellow appearance with lightly roasted areas.

Palacios has roots going back to a family butcher’s shop opened in Albelda de Iregua, La Rioja, in 1960. The business expanded into prepared foods over the following decades, beginning the commercialisation of Spanish tortilla in 2002 and later incorporating frozen-tortilla specialist Alinaco into the group in 2013.

This tortilla must be fully heated before eating and can be prepared in the microwave, oven or frying pan. From frozen, the producer recommends 15-20 minutes in an oven at 180-200°C, or 15-20 minutes in a microwave at maximum power. Do not defrost before preparation.
