If you love nothing more than travelling but are struggling to find the money for a quick getaway, you may want to bring the flavour of another country to your home instead.
By inviting some of your best friends around you can make a real evening of it, and the Chronicle Herald has suggested that there’s no better way to spend an evening than by having a Spanish wine and tapas party.
The news provider noted that “Spain is currently one of the most exciting regions for both its wine and its food”, which means you have plenty of options when it comes to delicious treats and tipples to serve your guests.
You could stock up on some Spanish cheese, ham and even chocolate, and ask all of your guests to bring a Spanish wine of their choice. As well as the classic rioja, there is also cava and some fresh, non-sparkling white wines that come from the nation.
If you’re not sure where to start with arranging a Spanish tapas party, you could order a Spanish food hamper to give you the basics and go from there. If preparing lots of smaller tapas dishes sounds like too much, you could always make your own paella instead.
With Easter coming up, you could have a gathering themed around this festival – and Spain certainly knows how to celebrate at this time of the year.
There are some great Spanish Easter cakes that you can share with your guests, the most famous of which is Monas de Pascua, but Bartolillos and flores fritas are among the other options.
